𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝’𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦, “𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝,” 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝟏𝟐 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬

𝐎𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐝 american Southern rock band 𝐋𝐲𝐧𝐲𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐤𝐲𝐧𝐲𝐫𝐝 stopped in Ferrara for their only Italian date. Performing in one of the city’s historic squares, they delivered a setlist packed with their greatest hits. The tour, titled “𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟓𝟎 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬”, honored the half-century since the band’s founding—a history marked by the loss of many original members (including former leader 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐧 𝐙𝐚𝐧𝐭, succeeded by his brother 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧𝐧𝐲, and guitarist 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧, who passed away in 2023). Even today, the band continues to fire up the crowd with a powerful, gritty musical foundation, catchy melodies, and a repertoire featuring slow, melancholic milestones like “𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝” and “𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲’𝐬 𝐆𝐨𝐧𝐞“.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍 𝐅𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐓𝐄𝐒

𝐎𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞, 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐚 𝟗𝟎-𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭 into just five. That time limit was easily surpassed—more than doubled, in fact—during the performance of their signature anthem, “Free Bird”. The song was originally dedicated to the late guitarist 𝐃𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐧, founder of the Allman Brothers, who died in a motorcycle accident in 1971. Six years later, an equally tragic fate took Lynyrd Skynyrd’s own frontman, 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐧 𝐙𝐚𝐧𝐭. In Ferrara, the notes of “Free Bird”—which shift from a soulful opening to a frenetic guitar-fueled finale—rang out for 𝟏𝟐 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬 (you can find the full concert report here, here the link, also available across three articles on Gioele Caccia’s Facebook profile, see “GuardarsIntorno” in bio). 𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐎 𝐈𝐍 𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐎

𝐈𝐥 𝟐𝟗 𝐠𝐢𝐮𝐠𝐧𝐨 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐢 “𝐋𝐲𝐧𝐲𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐤𝐲𝐧𝐲𝐫𝐝”, 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐚 di Southern rock conosciuta in tutto il mondo, hanno fatto tappa a Ferrara, unica data italiana, in una delle piazze storiche della città, con una scaletta composta dai loro maggiori successi. Il tour celebrava il 50° anniversario dalla fondazione del gruppo musicale (“𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟓𝟎 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬”), anni in cui sono scomparsi molti componenti della formazione (tra cui l’ex leader 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐧 𝐙𝐚𝐧𝐭, a cui è subentrato il fratello Johnny, e il chitarrista 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧, morto nel 2023). Ancora oggi però riesce a riscaldare il pubblico con una base musicale energica e grintosa, melodie orecchiabili e un repertorio costruito anche su brani lenti e malinconici, pietre miliari nella carriera del complesso musicale, come “𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝” e “𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲’𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐞”.

𝐈𝐋 𝐌𝐄𝐆𝐋𝐈𝐎 𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐐𝐔𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐓𝐈

𝐎𝐯𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐞’ 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞 𝟗𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐢 𝐝𝐢 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝟓 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐢, tempo che è stato abbondantemente superato, più che doppiato, durante l’esecuzione del loro cavallo di battaglia, “𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝”, dedicato a suo tempo all’ex chitarrista 𝐃𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐧, fondatore degli Allman Brothers, morto in seguito ad un incidente in moto nel 1971. Sei anni dopo un destino altrettanto tragico (lo schianto di un aereo) ha strappato ai 𝐋𝐲𝐧𝐲𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐤𝐲𝐧𝐲𝐫𝐝 il loro frontman, 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐧 𝐙𝐚𝐧𝐭. Le note di Free Bird, che dopo un inizio melanconico si fanno veloci e frenetiche quando la scena viene catturata dalle chitarre, sono risuonate a Ferrara per 𝟏𝟐 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐢 (qui la cronaca del concerto: il link qui, reperibile anche in tre articoli pubblicati sul profilo Facebook di Gioele Caccia, vedi in bio GuardarsIntorno). Impossibile quindi rendere in 5 minuti un concerto intero.
